The Aviosuperficie L’Aquila is located between the villages of Poggio Picenze and Fossa, approximately 12 km east of the city of L’Aquila, the capital of the Abruzzo region. It is really easy to get here either by car, bus, train or, obviously, by air!
Flying
You can land in Aviosuperficie L’Aquila airfield by arranging your visit in advance. Fill in and send the PPR form after reading the Briefing Package in order to be familiar with the local procedures.
We look forward to welcome pilots with airplanes, helicopters, gliders and ultralights arriving from all over Europe.
By Car
“L’Aquila Est” is the closest A24 motorway exit to take in order to get to our airfield. It is 12 km away from the airfield on the eastbound direction. You will find some signs as you approach the airfield.
By train
If you take the minor but scenic L’Aquila - Sulmona railway line, you can get off at “Paganica”, “S. Demetrio nè Vestini” or “L’Aquila San Gregorio” stations using the Trenitalia railway services.
By bus
You can easily get to L’Aquila terminus from Rome city centre, Rome airports or from Pescara using several available intercity buses.
From the station or from the terminus… We will pick you up!
If you choose to come by public transport services, one of the Aero Club L’Aquila members, upon request through our office, will give you a lift from the train station or the terminus to the airfield! We will do the same on your way back if needed, of course!
